When planting bonsai from seed, it is most likely to determine the shape and form of the tree from the beginning. It takes more time to grow tree from seed, but when you use flat container, it grows more stockythan shoots found in the woods.
Origin: From about 2500 years it is mostly prevalent in the entire Mediterranean region.
Propagation: Sowing seeds at home is possible all year-round. Put the seeds to swell for twelve hours in water at room temperature, than put them in moist greenhouse soil. Because they need light to germinate, the seeds should not be covered with soil. When moisture and heat are sufficient (20 ° -25 ° C) seeds germinate after 2-3 weeks.
Place / Light: Bright and sunny places (indoors or outdoors) are perfect.
Watering and fertilizing: During the growth period water thoroughly, but always leave the previous irrigation water to dry. In winter the tree should be watered less, but don’t leave the soil to dry. From late March to October every 14 days the tree must be provided with liquid fertilizer for bonsai.
Pruning: Once the new shoots have appeared 6-8 pairs of leaves, 2-3 leaves should be trimmed. Branches can be cut from May to August.
Soil: For transplanting (after clamping) use a mixture of one-third homogeneous land, peat and sand.
